The grand finale! I made sure to leave early so as to arrive on time. I got to the venue at about 4pm- yes, super early lol- I didn’t want to take chances and miss out on anything. Who knows, there might have been a street proposal or something of the sort. But what do I know? *shrugs*
Immediately I arrived, I got down to taking pictures of my outfit so I could share with “y’all”. -forgive my language.
My Outfit for the fourth day was athleisure inspired. It has been on trend for a while now and I’m definitely loving it. I see it as a means to mix business with pleasure- they sort of meet halfway. I wore a navy blue pinstripe two button suit which I paired with DC sneakers. Tres Chic!
Usually, pinstripe suits are reserved for boardrooms and business meetings but that’s all changing now thanks to the athleisure trend. You would see more pinstripe suits on the streets paired with your favourite sneakers- Converse All Stars, Vans etc.
My favourite looks from the final day are :
Tsemaye Binite : I was taken by the simple fabric and intricate cuts. He always brings it!
Washington Roberts: I love his generous use of colour, the intricate cut and attention to detail.
Orange Culture : Adebayo always gives us his version of what menswear should be. He always does the unconventional and I am here for all of it!
Bridget Awosika : I was particularly taken by the use of delicate fabric in soft colours and also the attention paid to detail.
Kelechi Odu : His collection was very relaxed which I loved very much. It consisted of neutral colour tones and bold footwear.
Lisa Folawiyo : It was a colourful collection. It included asymmetric details, fringes, ruffles and print! I love her ability to make print so appealing.
Lanre DaSilva Ajayi (LDA) : She is know for using delicate feminine fabric to create masterpieces which I would say is wearable piece of art.
House of Kaya : I loved the combination of embellishments, exaggerated sleeves, layered details and bright coloured palette. He made modest dressing so appealing.
Altogether, it was an amazing show. Well done to the Lfdw team and everyone one of us that has contributed to the success of this year’s fashion week.
