Fashion week has come and gone but the memories will last a lifetime. I wasn’t particularly excited for this fashion week- I dunno why- I thought it was going to be pretty dull. But I was proven wrong when I arrived and everywhere was bubbling. I thought to myself, “It’s beginning to feel a lot like fashion week!”
I arrived about 4pm but the runway show didn’t start until about 8 pm. I was slightly disappointed that an event slated for 5pm didn’t start until 3 hours later. It has been the norm for the past 4 years and I really hoped that this year, it would change. But unfortunately, it didn’t. I wasn’t going to let the 3 hours waste, so I used that time to network, make new acquaintances and reconnect with old friends. I also granted interview to some television stations and posed for photos for some blogs and media houses. I also used the time to shoot my outfit.
My outfit for the first day was a modification of the French Suit which I paired with comfortable sneakers.
My favorite looks from day one are :
ATCL x Assian :The collection had a clear theme of a wounded man with bandages. I loved the dark under eye make up. It was definitely a great collection.
Onalaja : I loved the colour palette which consisted of a lot of neutrals with hints of metallics. It was an entirely cohesive collection. Great work!
Dzyn : I loved that the pieces were ultra feminine with floral details and the fabric in soft colours. I also love that attention was paid to detail.
T.I Nathan : He played with colours and kept the theme fun and playful.
Style Temple :The collection consisted of a lot of fringes, tassels and the use of soft and neutral colours. Altogether, it was a cohesive and amazing collection. I loved it!
Wanger Ayu : In this collection, we see a lot of frills and ruffles as well as bell sleeves and floral. It was indeed a very feminine collection.
Day one was amazing!
