HOLIDAY STYLE INSPIRATION – A DUNGAREE AFFAIR.

imageIt’s the season to be merry! The Christmas/ New year Holidays are here and I’m sure we would be attending a lot of parties/get together – indoors parties (office, restaurant and house parties) and also outdoor parties (barbecue parties, street carnivals etc). It’s definitely the time to show our fashion prowess and make some fashion statements.
I have given general style tips in my fashion column on post Nigeria which you can read here .

So, for this post, I have put together a look that’s perfect for casual outdoor parties.

I’m wearing blue dungarees, vintage print shirt and a pair of Nike sneakers. I have accessorized with a face cap and a duffle bag called “The Freud Bowler bag.”

Dungarees, also know as overalls, come from the name of the fabric- dungaree- used to make it which is a special type of denim. They were initially made to be used as protective clothing when working. They became a fashion trend among American youths in the 1970’s and again for females in the late 1990s. Presently, they’re worn as causal clothes due to their comfort, handiness and durability. Dungarees can also be made in corduroy in addition to denim. The pair I’m sporting is made from denim.

I have incorporated Christmas colours – by way of my vintage print shirt- into my outfit.

What do you think about the outfit? Where would you love to wear it to?

I love how you have styled the dungarees, it still is a representation of your sense of style and you still manage to keep the look fresh and urban with the cap and sneakers.

Thank you, Fred! I’m glad you’re able to relate to my style. Dungarees are one of my favorite clothing but I don’t get to wear them much.
